I forgot to post on July 24th that Me, Mom, Sis, and Bro went to Circue du Soleil: KOOZÅ when they were showing in the twin cities area. Although the whole ting was amazing, my favorite act was “Roue de la Mort” or the “Wheel of Death”. My favorite costumes was from “La Danse des Squelettes” or the “Skeleton Dance”. Although we couldn’t take pictures during the show, I did get some of the masks they were selling. I also bought a Souvenir Program and a CD of the show. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to get them off of Mom’s camera and post them. I was so glad I went – it was well worth the money I spent! Some of the funniest parts were: 1) before the show, there was a lot of actors out and about pretending to be a part of the staff; one was a man (a janitor?) who did a variety of things, from making a lot of noise, to making a mess of the audience. 2) at the beginning there was a man “portraying” the rules of the show. 3) the naughty dog being… naughty to the audience. 4) the clowns and hand-picked audience getting electrocuted by the King. 5) one of the times the King lost control of his remote, a woman from the audience was startled to find that her seat was not stationary! Parents should note that this show is NOT meant for a young audience. There is a goodly amount of adult humor in the show, and I personally wouldn’t let anyone under ~15 years to go… not that they would understand the joke anyhow (I hope). Don’t forget the sense of ‘dirty’ humor the French have at times! [My apologies to any who are offended by this comment; I actually like 'dirty' jokes. The statement was meant as a way for parents to understand the type of humor they would encounter.] Boy, that was a good day! I don’t think it’s something I’ll ever forget.

Dissidia came in the mail today. Yay. To my surprise, it came with a mini-soundtrack. Well, I guess that’s a plus, right? I’ll probably start playing it tonight.

Huh… Dissidia makes me wonder who my favorite villains are. Sephiroth will always be one of my top faves. Kefka is just so insanely bizarre that I can’t help liking him too. (His SNES laugh is hilarious!) Kuja… well… I’m not exactly sure why I like him (her?), but his (her?) trance form is pretty neat. I find Albedo ‘fascinating’ but his perversions are a little disturbing. Mir, Mithos, and Riku I can really sympathize with. I also like Richter, Axel, Ultros, T-elos, Genesis, Biggs/ Wedge (FFVIII), Erim, and probably more I can’t think of.

Darn. I missed Smoking Gun’s World’s Dumbest… again.

Wow, how time flies… my birthday is in (about) two weeks. Dad’s always been there to make my birthday meal (and ‘complain’ about the ice cream cake he never liked -_-;). Knowing he’s not gonna be there to make it this time is really depressing.

Yesterday Mom and I went down to southern MN to visit the last of my grandparents: Grandma D. She’s in a nursing home now because her son, M, wasn’t taking care of her properly – although he pretended that he did. She’s having a hard time doing things now, like talking, moving, and eating… Mom’s certain she won’t last the winter. I… just couldn’t go in and look at her. It scares me to see someone like that, because then I feel like I’m next. I’ve had so many bad experiences with doctors and hospitals that it brings back bad memories. I do feel bad about it, but going in there in a panicked state… wouldn’t have helped either.

<del datetime="2009-09-04T03:09:01+00:00">Crap! I forgot today’s Thursday… I missed the Smoking Gun’s World’s Dumbest. T.T *cries* Maybe I can find the episode on YouTube or something…

But that means… tomorrow’s Friday: ‘Pickle’ night. Well, if you lived in my area, you’d know what the Pickle is. It’s a bar. Ironically enough, I go there and have things like: hot chocolate, coca cola with grenadine, shelled peanuts, popcorn, and cheese pizza. I’m not into booze much. I do like Fu-Ki Umeshu (Fu-Ki = a brand of wine; Umeshu = Japanese plum wine) and a FEW malt beverages (like Mike’s Hard Lime). Been wanting to try Smirnoff’s Black Cherry and Green Apple, though. A strawberry Daiquiri was pretty good too. But all-in-all, most liquors are to bitter for me to like. LMAO I don’t think I’ve had any liquor since Sis’s wedding (almost exactly) two years ago. But when your percriptions say “do not take with alchohol”, what are ya supposed to do? *sigh*</del> [Note: I just realized that I'm a day off on my days.]

Been tempted to buy Eureka (the Sci-Fi TV show series) from Amazon.com. But I’ve been having a hard time doing it… It was something Dad and I watched together all the time, and I’m having a hard time bringing myself to finish the last of season 3… even though I want to know what happens. *sighes sadly*

Getting tired… Better get to bed…

T’was in the hospital again. A sore throat turned our to be a buch of sores in the back of my throat. One of them burst and I started coughing of blood in large quantities. I just have all the luck… *grumbles* So far no one’s explained to me precisely why I have sores in my throat… and it’s nearly two weeks. They finally seem to be getting better, but I’ve picked them up in other spots now.

K came over for a three week visit with her baby. She’s stayed with her parents, C and B, but is leaving Sunday. I’m kinda bummed that Mom and I wern’t invited out more. K never seems to like to hang out with us… but then C and B are starting to get that way too. It feels like I’ve got the plague or something that way the go have fun, boast about it, but never invite us out (and they know we have no money anymore because Dad died). …Then again, maybe they just don’t know how to ‘handle us’. I shouldn’t just jump to conclusions… but it’s hard not to sometimes. The only family I talk to anymore is Mom, Sis, Bro, aunt C, uncle B, and cousin S. S has been really understanding. She knows what I’m going through, with my illness, because she, too, developed Celiac. S is easy to talk to and I always feel mentally stronger and happier when I talk with her. She reminds me of Sis, in that she is a loyal friend, but a terrible enemy. Neither of them have a problem telling things like they are. Plus, I find we all have similar beliefs and she makes me laugh. S has been going to the Mayo a lot, trying to figure out her skin problems. I really, really hope the doctors figure out what’s wrong. She doesn’t deserve to be tied down like this; she’s such a good person! When I get better, I want to visit her.

Finally. After years of searching, I found Shillelaghs for sale. Sis would always tease Bro and say “Don’t make me beat you with my Shillelagh!”. Although she doesn’t have one, so he would tease her again, only to have her mutter: “Just wait ’til I get my Shillelagh!”. What can I say, it’s a family joke. Oh, what is a Shillelagh? It’s a walking stick made in Ireland, but it can also be used as a club/ cludgel. They are made from Blackthorn or Oak and are blackened. If you’ve ever seen a Leprechaun with a stick in his hand, that would be it. They are a bit pricy though, and we promised no Birthday presents this year, so I’m having a dicken’s of a time figuring out how to give her one!

Been playing Tales of Symphonia: DotNW on my shiny new Wii I saved up for. It’s not too bad, considering all the Cons I found.

Pros:
- All the old characters are present (minus one… sort of).
- You get to befriend monsters.
- The skits are funny.
- There’s decient character development. The stoyline seems pretty good so far also. (Havent finished playing yet.)
- Gald and Grade are easy to come by.
- Your actions early on determine what ending you get. (This is a double-edged sword.)
- Players of ToS get the option to use their cleared game file and get bonus items before a new game.

Cons:
- I think pretty much all the ToS characters voices have changed.
- There really aren’t too many side quests… unless you count the Katz Quests.
- There are only two playable, keepable characters. Half of your fighting force is made up of monsters. Although there are plenty of temporary characters to compensate for that. This game tries to force you into using monsters (imo), and that, in a way, seems to distance the player from the characters you use.
- All temporary characters have a fixed level and cannot gain levels through EXP. This sucks when Emil is level 80 and Sheena is only 38.
- Sheena can’t seem to summon in combat like she used to. Collette doesn’t have any of her angelic skills.
- Trying to steal is… horrible. It’s very hard to get anything. (So far.)
- Where the heck is the outfit option? None of the titles have much purpose other than a stat upgrade… and I’m not sure if the title are fixed (like weapons and armor) or if you gain added points per level.
- The beloved world map is (pretty much) gone. Now it’s a simple selection of a location and, wala, you’re there. Not all locations are there every chapter, so you can’t revisit them sometimes.
- Cooking is rather pointless. It’s only used to feed monsters. One dish equils a stat raise and an evolution (if at the right level). What gives?
- A good number of monsters are very rare andd can only be found in Katz Quests, and in the rarest random encounter of it’s “group”. Trying to collect them for a (rather pointless) title is tedious.
- I heard somewhere that the graphics are the same as the original ToS. (i’m not so sure about this one.)
- Kats Quests are rather boring, considering it’s pretty much monster battling. The rewards are randomized and most are easy to aquire elsewhere. You also can’t repeat quests over and over again… although some return then the chapter progresses. If you fail or quit a quest you lose your chance to complete it. (This makes monster catching even more frustrating.) There’s no way to save, sleep, feed monsters, or change your party while in a quest. A local Katz will allow you to shop and synthisize, though.
- You can’t skip through event sceens. Ugh…
- I constantly ask myself: Why is Lloyd using a Rheaird when he could…? (I won’t spoil ToS for those who haven’t seen the ending.)

Ok, done ranting… for now.

…And does the PSPgo sound worth $250? Not in my opinion!

I haven’t really felt like doing much ever since…. *sigh* Lots of weird stuff has been reminding me of Dad and setting me off. He, Mom, and Sis are my life… pretty much all I live for. Makes me wonder if jumping into a pit of fire would feel any better than this?

Today is Sis’s birthday. That makes her 23… I think. She’ll be over tomorrow with Bro to celebrate with some homemade ka-bobs.

Sunday is Mother’s Day. Mom, Sis, Bro, C, B, and myself are going out for brunch. I got Mom “A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity” by Bill O’Reilly. Shhhhh. Don’t tell Sis. I feel bad because I didn’t get anything for Sis’s birthday. Plus, if she knew, she would feel terrible for not getting Mom anything – even though she is short on money. Maybe I can finally get Tick-Tock right and give that to her for a belated present?

….Wait. You DO know who Tick-Tock is, right? Aww, c’mon! Everybody knows Tick-Tock! He’s the green crocodile that thinks Captain Hook is codfish! Yum. :) Gotta remember to look up some picts of him tomorrow…

I did do a pict of Yuffie Kisaragi not too long ago, which I should scan. XP It actually turned out pretty good, so that made me happy. It made Mom happy to see me draw again.

Bro fixed my computer (actually he rebuilt it and wiped it clean) because of a nasty virus that was hiding and messing with it. I had a lot of probles I just couldn’t fix. [IE: Couldn't go to antivirus websites, couldn't update Windows, couldn't update Bit Defender, kept freezing during startups, fun stuff like that.] WHen my computer stopped reading the CD-ROM drive, I raced to backup my drive… and just stopped using it, for fear of something really bad happening. Boy, I’m glad that my PC is back! I need to stop by the movie theater and grab him a gift certificate still. I know he won’t let me pay for him working so hard to fix it. *sighs*

I was finally able to replug my computer (it only had two USB ports when I needed three) so I could tap into my backup drive. Plus I managed to reconfigure my email (and it’s new POP3 account) so I could get email again. I’m kinda proud of my self; that I was able to do it on my own. Dad would be proud.

Crap, now I feel depressed again. Everything seems to link back, reminding me of him [Dad].

Think I’ll stop here for the night.
